Your Guides

India Sacred Journeys was born out of a desire to share the deep love and reverence for the sacred land of Bharat (India) with others who are on life’s pilgrimage.

The heart of the journeys is the presence that is evoked when we reflect the inner journey of our own selves into the outer pilgrimage through the unfolding of the path before us.

Satyavan (Phillip) and Savitri invite you to embrace the wholeness within each moment of the path, for the path is you and you are the path.

Let these inner and outer explorations take us to places that resonate with our deeper Self, following the call of the ancients who inhabited these lands for millennia and who are the true guides.

Savitri

“The One breathes gently

Across the face of the world

And bestows the Grace to all”

That One Breath drew Savitri to India in 1988. There she met her Master - Sathya Sai Baba and fell in love with India. Since then the Himalayan mountains have called her and she has travelled up the pilgrim path to Tapovan on numerous occasions, finding peace and spiritual fulfillment among these mighty peaks and sacred river valleys.

Savitri invites you all to come on a journey and share her great love for India and its mountains, and her passion for the Himalayan Yoga Tradition. Following the practices of this tradition has enabled Savitri to dive deep into the great mysteries that emanate from the Rishis who have inhabited these mountains since time immemorial. Savitri has met sages and yogis on her many pilgrimages and imbibed the wisdom of the silence - the great gift of the mountains, the great gift of India.

Satyavan (Phillip)

“The living breath

Has lifted this one

And given him wings of light

To fly the long road home.”

Satyavan has walked the sacred soil of India on many occasions over the past fifty years. His footsteps have been guided by the grace and love of Sathya Sai Baba, which led him to the Himalayas and Shivaling Mountain. He has immersed himself in the silence and peace of Tapovan and loves to share the joy of that holy land with any who are willing to take that winding path up Ganga to stand on the holy ground.

Phillip has a deep love of Indian history, Indian culture and, most of all Indian spirituality, especially expressed through the ancient texts and the modern Masters. As we journey our steps unfold our path and the path becomes our own. Phillip invites you to share in this blessed experience.
